The elegant Ceramic Vessel was designed and produced for ACTIVIST by Gidon Bing, from his modest boatshed atelier and studio in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland, New Zealand). Gidon’s work draws inspiration from the power and presence of reductive form – a natural extension of Gidon’s sculptural practice, where a fascination with the relationship between biological asymmetry and the artifact is explored. The natural bone crackle patina on the vessels exterior is an example of timeless preservation.
Each vessel is unique and different from each other with subtle variations in tone and patina and are to be considered distinctive features of the object.
